Kathy and I were good friends while our children were in Elementary school in Lawreceville, Ga in the late 1980’s. I am so sorry for your loss Marty, Chad, Jill and Kevin. She was funny and a great shopping buddy. I remember her visit to Tallahassee, we had a great visit.

Kathy was a fun loving lady with a positive outlook on life. I was sad when they moved from Spring, TX, but Kathy and I never missed a beat with all the phone calls. It breaks my heart that I didn’t make it up there in January as planned, but the roads were so bad. I will always cherish our 40+ friendship. Until we meet again, Kathy. I love you dearly.

What I recall most about Kathy was her vibrant yet warm personality. I admired her strong will to not give up on battling cancer.   It is difficult to lose a loved one and I hope you find comfort in remembering the wonderful memories you will always have. 

I had just moved to Denver, Colorado when a good friend of mine ,who managed a Holiday Inn, asked me to come cook with him as his help had not shown up. I ask him is that Kathy girl, who was one of his  waitresses, working that day. He said yes and I said “ I am on my way”. I asked her out while working that day. Why she said yes I will never know since our first date was to a Frank Zappa Concert! I knew if she would have me I was hooked especially after our first date. Something I never regretted and felt very lucky!
