Kathleen Mary Clarice Edgar
July 10, 1961 – March 21, 2025
Kathleen Mary Clarice Edgar left this world on March 21, 2025, at the age of 63.
Kathleen was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, educator, and friend. She touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Kathleen was born on July 10, 1961, to her beloved parents, Hugh and Evelyne, who have since preceded her in death. Her spirit is now reunited with them, along with her brother, Tim. Kathleen’s love for her family and her deep commitment to her community were the foundations of her life. She is survived by her cherished children: Marvin (Duvessa) Edgar, William Israel-Edgar, and Elizabeth (Alexander) Edgar; her adored grandchildren, Gemma, Phoebe, Sawyer, Sebastian, Emmylou, Maeve, and the upcoming Vienna, whom she eagerly awaited. She leaves behind her siblings, Jon (Dorothy), Bob (Donna), and Sally, along with her sister-in-law Joni. She was also a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Kathleen’s strength and dedication were evident in everything she did. As a single mother of three, she worked full-time while putting herself through school, finally earning her Master’s from The University of Arizona. She was a true role model for her children, showing them the power of perseverance and hard work. Kathleen helped found Laurent Clerc Elementary School, a charter school in Tucson, AZ, where her impact as an educator began to flourish. She later dedicated 13 years of her life to shaping the minds of young students as a K-1 teacher at Borton Magnet School from 2006 until her retirement in 2019. Before that, she also taught at John B. Wright Elementary, touching countless lives in her career. Kathleen was more than just a teacher; she was a mentor to many colleagues and an inspiration to all who worked with her. Kathleen’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was deeply involved in Desert Springs Church for many years, following God’s words as a devoted Christian. Her faith guided her through every challenge, and she lived her life with grace, kindness, and an unwavering belief in the power of love and community. Kathleen was also a loving sister, aunt, and friend. She loved staying connected with her family and friends, always reaching out with a kind word or thoughtful gesture. Her love extended beyond her human family, and she had a special bond with her pets, who brought her joy and comfort. Kathleen was known for her creativity and kindness. She enjoyed crocheting gifts for her family and friends, creating pieces that were treasured keepsakes. While we grieve her passing, we take comfort in knowing that Kathleen is now with her heavenly family. Her legacy of love, warmth, dedication, and unwavering faith will live on in her children, grandchildren, and everyone whose life she touched. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love and admiration.
