KATHLEEN (KAE) A. DAVIS

Kathleen (Kae) Davis, 77, of Boise, Idaho died Sunday, December 25, 2022 at Grace Memory Care, State St.   Kae was born on March 14, 1945, in Boise. She was the daughter of long-time Boise residents LaVerne and Florence Davis, both teachers in the Boise School District for many years. They were active members of First Baptist Church.

Kae attended Borah High School and graduated from Catherine’s Beauty School in 1964, starting her career at Brookover’s and Carroll’s. Kae opened her first beauty salon March 1, 1966, at 2606 Camas in Boise. There, with Susan Post Alexander and Alice Hibbard, a thriving salon was developed which led to several other salons over the 40 years that Kae served the Boise community. Her final salon was Kae & Co. on Orchard.

Kae is survived by her three children from her marriage to Chuck Zimmerly (1967 to 1982): Andra Zimmerly Gillespie, Ryan (Ambre) Zimmerly and Josh (Lisa) Zimmerly;  two sisters, Barbara Gant of Cottage Grove, OR and Evelyn Strand of Tigard, OR. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, L. Eddy Davis. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jacob Gillespie, Josh Gillespie, Allie Zimmerly, Nic Zimmerly, Stephen Zimmerly and Hailey Zimmerly.

Graveside services will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, 6801 SW Sunset Hwy, Portland, OR at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 31, 2022.
