I met Kathy through my sister, Beth.  She was always gracious, kind, and humble.  When she was with Bill you could just feel the love between them.  Such gentle souls.  Now riding through heaven whether Harley or pontoon, doesn't matter, they're together.  God bless!

August 2024, our last visit o…
August 2024, our last visit on Wheeler Lake listening to music & having great conversation.

Kathy was a sweet soul, a good listener & a dear friend. We shared many late night conversations. I will miss my visits to Wheeler Lake, a place of peace, that Kathy loved.

Kathy accepted everyone, rich or poor, crazy or quite. She had a heart for strays and underdogs. She loved all creatures. When I worked with Kathy at SBS I would call her when I’d hear crickets in the lobby. She would come, with cup in hand & hunt down the little bugger and remove him from the building to the great outdoors. She rescued them and set them free. She feed the deer and birds along with other critters. She didn’t like mice, even said she hated them worst of all, yet she wouldn’t kill them, even if they were in her house. She would live trap them and take them down the road to release them.

Kathy had the confidence to tackle anything and was extremely strong, handling so many chores after she lost Bill. She didn’t like to ask for help and managed the big lake house, working endlessly on tasks for upkeep. It was fine when it was a two person job but without Bill, it fell on her. She would often talk to Bill, especially during these times.

Anyone who met Bill & Kathy knew they were soul mates. It was their vibe, they were tolerant, accepting & welcoming. Their love for each other, their family & friends was something we all could learn from.

I am so thankful to the WOW group and the friendships she made with so many of them.

Cindy, I’m sorry, the loss you must feel. There wasn’t a visit or conversation, you were not mentioned. You were her sister.

Joey, Sara & Kristine & your families, I’m so sorry. The tears you shed & the grief you feel Is your final gift of love to honor your mom. She will live on in your memories and in your heart forever. Most of all she would want you to stay close, communicate and love one another.

I thank God for our friendship, 20yrs was not long enough. We still have stories to share but I know Kathy is so happy to be reunited with Bill & they are dancing together again.

This from a vintage card I received from Kathy.

Some say a friend is one who shares both bright & gloomy days.

Someone who makes us happy by their thoughtful, friendly ways.

Someone with whom we can discuss the little things we’ve planned.

Or just keep silent, knowing they will always understand.

And I say yes, a friends all this and much more, and I know

Because I’ve had the luck to have a friend who’s proved it so,

And their is more than wishes in the greeting that I send

To someone I’ll be always glad and proud to call my friend.

Ditto my dear sweet Kathy, I will miss you.

Your Mom will be missed by so many. She was a kind, genuine person. I have so many memories and so lucky to have known her almost my whole life. I know you guys will honor her and your dad in the lives you live, and will keep them here with you by the memories you have and share. Thinking of you in this most difficult time🩷
