Kitty's obituary
Kitty was born on February 2, 1947 to George and Ruth Leung in Canton, China. She spent most of her youth in Hong Kong, and immigrated to the United States when she was a teenager. Her family initially settled down in Fresno, CA.
Our mother was one of the most caring and kindest women to ever walk this earth and we were so blessed to be raised by her. Kitty was a wonderful and loving mother who gave her all to her family. She was our greatest motivator, greatest critic, but also our biggest fan. She always tried to push us to realize our potential. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.
Kitty was a woman who was strong in her Christian faith. She always reminded us that God would provide us with everything we need. Her favorite bible verse was Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Kitty was passionate about gardening and when she wasn’t taking on a new house project, she could be found tending to the many fruits, herbs, and flowers in her garden.
Kitty was predeceased by her parents: George Leung and Ruth Lee Leung, and her two brothers: Tom and Woody Leung. She is survived by her two children: Winston and Tiffany; by her brothers: David and Samuel; and by her sisters: Yan Oi, Yan Sum, May, and Esther. And along with all of her surviving siblings, Kitty leaves behind many nieces, nephews, as well as grand nieces and grand nephews. Lastly, she is also survived by her longtime partner, Dennis, who has become a part of our family. One of the greatest joys for Kitty was being able to spend time with her wonderful large family. She will be greatly missed by all of us.
A viewing will be held on May 27th and a memorial service on May 28th. Both events will take place in the outdoor pavilion at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
