Kathrine Louise Pennington, aged 61, passed away peacefully at Palms of Pasadena Hospital from pneumonia. Born in Dayton, Ohio, Kathy dedicated 36 years of her life to nurturing young minds as a beloved kindergarten teacher at Pasadena Fundamental School. Her passion for teaching and her love for children of all ages left a lasting impact on countless lives. Katherine had a passion for gardening and was especially interested in native Florida plants and pollinators. Kathy also had a fondness for garage and estate sales. She especially loved collecting vintage pottery. She was well known to leap out of the car to be the first one into the sale! Her laughter and sparkling personality were legendary!

She is survived by her loving daughter, Ruth Elizabeth Jane, who was her world. Also survived by her siblings, Suzanne (Carl) Geisler, Robert Pennington, James (Elise) Pennington, nieces Tiara (Grant) Sanmarco, Emily (Stephen) Spyrou, Grace (Eivind) Stenmark and great nephews Ryker Sanmarko and Alexander Spyrou in addition to many cherished cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Shirley Pennington

Kathy will leave a hole in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Plant a flower and feed a pollinator in her memory. Buy and read a banned book in her memory. Read a book to your child or grandchild in memory. Find a treasure at an estate sale in her memory.
