My heart is broken.Rest in peace Kathy! I came to know Kathy at the birth of the internet in places like cybertown and yahoo chat.Kathy is the most wonderful person I have ever know this side of heaven. She loved her music and all sorts of games.Kathy would play her “song pop”every day and had to tell me all about the category of songs she just mastered. Some of the games Kathy liked were jeopardy, “don't forget the lyrics”,poker, spades, pool, “imagine if”Battleboats, to name just a few.She had laughing spells when she said something funny( her timing was perfect), or a funny story I told.Kathy told me her mom would say “ Kathy is my happy child”.Kathy was the kindest, caring ,funniest person I have ever known. She shared pictures of her family and places she went.Kathy raised two wonderful children and was so proud of them both and what they were accomplishing in life.My deepest condolences to Scotty, Valerie, Shelly and Billy. My grief is deep.I could write so much more but it would become a book.Kathy is now with the Lord, but she left me with wonderful memories and I will cherish them all.Her loss will be deeply felt by all who knew her. From a very dear friend and much more……..John

I got to know Kathy from a website called Cybertown. Cybertown was basically a metaverse/3d community where we'd meet people from all over the world. Kathy definitely was a bright light, always willing to sit down and have a chat. I will remember her for her kindness and appreciation for everyone involved with the rebirth of Cybertown.

I have memories of Kathy from high school, and in all those she is smiling her beautiful, friendly, happy, welcoming smile.
She is probably smiling down on all of us now!

When I first started learning to knit, around 2018, I posted on Facebook a yellow scarf I was knitting. Kathy loved the color and I told her I would send her the scarf. She said the yellow reminded her of springtime.
I hope she is smiling down, surrounded by bright yellow sunlight, and it is always springtime.
May her memory be for a blessing.

Kathy and I were both Jeopardy fans. Sometimes, we discussed questions we were completely stumped by. She shared funny stories about my late brother Mouse who was a V T graduate. She could be so very funny at times. She was such a sweet wonderful person and will be missed by so many. Cherish your wonderful memories.

I’m so sorry to hear of Kathy’s passing. We grew up together and have so many memories. Lately when we talked she would always say now it has to be before or after Jeopardy. I don’t talk during the show, lol. Such a wonderful person to call my friend. My prayers and condolences to her family.

How I adored your mom (my cousin🫶) growing up! As children we always felt so cool to get boxes of Shelly and Kathy hand me downs from Richlands, Va mailed to wherever my dad was stationed at the time. Even better was connecting in the summers in magical Bramwell, West Va where our parent would sip Cold Duck late into the night on the porch and we would chase firefly’s or hang out in the back room drinking cokes and eating chips. Her laugh, her smile, the older cousin lessons she would teach me about growing up. The world always looked fun and festive through her eyes. Did you know we even named our boys the same family name..Scott Liles :) Different last names of course but I loved this connection to our history . What an important and special part she played in my life growing up. My heart is with you all as we remember your wonderful mom. I’ll carry her memories with me always .

I had the pleasure of working with your mom at the Wells Fargo call center in Roanoke. Words express how devastated I was to learn of Kathy’s passing. She was truly a joy to work with and I am so grateful for being fortunate enough to have worked beside her. Some of my favorite memories were Kathy asking me why my large reusable water bottle was the size of a fire hydrant or when she would recount the time she put pop-rocks candy into Mountain Dew soda to, as she put it, “see what would happen” only to have one of the senior managers rush to the floor because it sounded like the sprinkler system was going off. Kathy was a much needed light in a line of business that can get hectic and stressful, but it was her laughter and comedic timing that kept us smiling.
