Albuquerque, New Mexico

I also met Kathy at NL Presbyterian Church. Kathy was a kind, caring, loyal friend. She led our church in environmental causes with water and energy.

Kathy was also a fabulous hostess who opened up her home for many wonderful evenings filled with great food, fun and fellowship!

When Kathy became too ill to keep her beloved Suki (cat), I was honored to take Ms. Suki  in and give her  a home for several  more years. Ms.Suki's mannerisms mirrored many of Kathy's ;stately, quiet elegance, and sure of her place in this world.

I miss them both!

Kathy was a welcome addition to New Life Presbyterian Church, especially to our choir. She had a strong and good alto voice. She told great stories about her family. Yes, kids, she bragged on you like a good mother snd grandmother would do. She loved opening up her house to a variety of church meetings and fun parties. I still remember her grilled salmon.
With stellar attendance at at every church service, we knew something was wrong when she didn’t show up that fateful Sunday. However, she did live quite a few years after her stroke and was able to be closer in proximity to her family. Kathy had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh! Matalie and Bonnie will always remember Kathy as someone who was deeply spiritual and caring, loved her friends and music; (season tickets to the Néw Mexico symphony). Kathy had an infectious zest for life. We loved her.
We met Kathy in 1999 when we moved in next door to her. Over the years we had many luncheons with the "Brushwood Lunch Bunch" our neighborhood women who enjoyed knowing and keeping up with our neighbors. It truly was a special and diverse group and we thoroughly enjoyed each other's company. We have many fond memories of our lovely neighbor, Kathy -- may you rest in peace dear Kathy.

Jim and I were so sorry to hear of Kathy's passing. We rest in the assurance that she is with her Lord and Savior.
Kathy was a wonderful neighbor of ours and she also joined us in our fitness class at the gym.
A quiet, but gentle lady.
Thank you for letting us know.

I first met Kathy while attending New Life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. It was my great pleasure to be entrusted with her dear kitty, Suki, after she became ill. I hope it brought her comfort.
My deepest condolences to her children and grandchildren.
We loved her well and will miss her earthly presence. We are comforted that she is reunited with all she loved, and is once again whole and singing our heavenly Father's praises.

Margaret and Caroline, I’m sorry to hear about your Mother’s passing. She was truly a wonderful person to know! I will always remember her with a smile.
Dear Margaret and Caroline...and all you beloved ones mourning your mom's death,
I had the privilege of being your mom's pastor at New Life Presbyterian Church, Albuquerque, NM from 2006-2010. I have so many good memories of Kathy -- her love of church, of innovative worship, of deep faith sharing, of finding new ways to welcome and care for others, and of course -- music! She was involved in every aspect of that small congregation's life and her contribution were critical.

I remember when my mom died, just at the beginning of my ministry at New Life, your mom was a comfort for me, often reminding me (as I now remind you) that mourning takes time...don't expect too much from yourself.

Thank you for your care of Kathy in her last years; thank you for loving and supporting her throughout your lives; thank you for sharing the news of her death with us; thank you for allowing us to pause a moment in order to thank God for the gift of her life and the promise of her life eternal.

Peace, Kay

Mom enthusiastically casting her vote for Hillary in 2016. Always a champion of the rights of women, immigrants, and people of color; an ally to the LGBTQ community, and a volunteer in combating climate change, she would be thrilled today, inauguration day, to see Kamala Harris and Joe Biden take the oaths of office.
