Dear Kate's Family: I was very saddened to hear of your loss. I only knew Kate for a short time during her work with the BLM. Her vibrant and caring personality came through during our meetings and site visits. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy.

Kate was a delightful young woman, full of vitality, vigor, strength and enthusiasm. She was a wonderful addition to our staff at the BLM in El Centro and was a pleasure to work with.   Hers was usually the first face I saw when arriving at the office and she always wore a bright smile.  I used to look for her car as I pulled into the lot because that smile was a pretty nice way to start another busy day! Kate had lots of spunk and a great sense of humor.

I’m so glad that Kate found her dream job. In the time she worked with us, Kate‘s accomplishments were impressive. I was always proud of her and could plainly see that she had a great career ahead of her.  I consider it an honor to have worked with Kate.   She represented us well and will be forever missed.

We were so lucky to have hired Kate and she made a difference from day one at the BLM. She was such a bright, positive young lady with a can do attitude and a joy for life. She jumped right into all of our projects and was so passionate about outreach and education to the public about the field of archaeology. Kate also was committed to ensuring that the local Tribal voices were heard and worked closely on numerous new interpretation projects around our Field Office to help share their important history. Please visit the kiosk at Kwaaymii Point along the Pacific Crest Trail in eastern San Diego to see an excellent example of her work. I will miss Kate immensely, not only professionally but on a personal level - I will miss our talks, laughs, and sharing stories about experiences and all the fun stuff outside of work- movies, tv shows, reading, and traveling. I feel blessed to have been able to know and work with Kate but am so incredibly sad that she was taken too soon. My deepest condolences to her family and friends- her passing is a profound loss for all of us.

I am so sorry for your loss and I'm at a loss for words to express my sorrow. Kate was such a beautiful person with a beautiful soul. I will miss working with her each and every day. My heart is broken.
