Katie was a colorful and spirited young girl and we enjoyed her big personality so much when she came to play at our house with Sabeqwa ā€” even the day she got mad and stormed out to walk home! I had to call and let Sharon know and we laughed. My heart is with you as you grieve your special, bright girl.Ā

My condolences to Katie's family. Katie was a breath of fresh air. She was knowledgeable and kind. I enjoyed working with her and she will be sorely missed. (I greatly looked up to her and this has hit me harder then I anticipated! Looking forward to her celebration of life)

I had only discovered a handful of years ago that Katie had reached out and friended me on Facebook. I was excited to reconnect with her but I didnā€™t take the time to do so and I regret that immensely. She will always be a core part of my childhood memories in my neighborhood. The times I got to play and grow with her, especially at her grandparentā€™s house, will always be cherished memories. I will always remember her as a sweet and fiery young girl who took the time to be my friend in the neighborhood.
