Karon's obituary
If you were lucky enough to know Karon, you knew what it meant to be loved. In her world, there was no such thing as loving too much. She poured her heart into everything and everyone she cared about.
Karon found joy in the simple, everyday moments like working on her projects around the house, planting flowers with Grace, eating a sonic Butterfinger blast with Nick or putting together the yearly family calendars she made. She shined when she and Jerry would dance around the house to their favorite country music. Her chihuahua was rarely far from her lap, especially when she had a glass of sweet tea in one hand and a good book in the other. She loved trips to Lake Brownwood and the mountains in New Mexico, laughing over card games, and just being with her family.
She was the heart of her home and the glue of her family. Karon was a devoted wife to her husband, Jerry Wade. She was a compassionate and loving mother to Tamyra and Christopher Bradley and Angela Isenberg. She was “Grams” in every beautiful sense of the word to her two grandchildren, Grace Isenberg and Nicholas Isenberg. She was a womb mate and best friend to her twin sister, Sharon Harris, and a caring sister to Jared Harris and Vonda Kellum. She adored being Aunt Karon to Amber, Gage, Kyra, Christopher, Jeremy, Zachary, Meghan, and Michael, and a loving great-aunt to Neiley, Nayland, Natalyn, Harlyn, Kit, and Lily—and even a great-great-aunt to little Declan. She is reunited with her mom Jerri and dad Neil Harris in heaven.
Karon had a gift for making people feel seen, heard, and valued. She was the shoulder you cried on, the cheerleader who always believed in you, the keeper of your secrets, and the friend who would stand by your side no matter what. She talked to both of her girls every day on their way home from work catching up, laughing, and sometimes solving the world’s problems in those phone calls. She was always ready to give advice, talk through a situation, or if necessary, threaten to “kick someone’s butt” if they messed with her family or friends.
Her hugs were the kind you didn’t want to let go of, and her sugars were given often and freely. Karon lived her life with a fierce, tender love that leaves an empty space in our hearts, but also a lasting warmth that will never fade. The universe has gained a devoted guardian angel, and we know she’ll keep watch over us just as she always has.
