Karl Markan, a noble soul, departed this life on October 31, 2024. Born on June 29, 1947, Karl lived a rich life characterized by love, adventure and unending learning. Known for his amazing strength and beautiful spirit, his life leaves a beacon for those who had the honor of knowing him and appreciating his wisdom. His indomitable spirit will be missed but his legacy lives on.

Karl is survived by his 3 daughters, a son, and 9 grandchildren, and 3 great- grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 sisters and one brother and a very special friend Darlene,  who kept him on his toes and shared the love of the ocean and lakes with him. He is preceded in death by his mother Virginia Markan and father Karl Victor Markan.  His memory will forever be etched in the hearts of his family and friends, serving as a source of inspiration and maintaining his influence even after his passing. We mourn his departure but celebrate his life and the impact he had on the lives of many. Rest in peace, Karl. Celebration of life is being held at a later date.
