Kari Jean Smith, 43, of Rochester, NH passed away on March 3, 2025 unexpectedly at a home in Somersworth, NH.

    Kari was born in Potsdam, NY on December 12, 1981. Years later, she moved to New Hampshire with her mother, Rhonda LaValley (Trombley), where they lived for the remainder of their lives.

    Kari spent a lot of her years in NH helping to raise three children; Devin LaPanne, Joey LaPanne, and Mercedes LaPanne, with her partner at the time, Brandy LaPanne. She played a loving and impactful role in their lives. Kari was always there for her nieces and nephews in their early years of childhood too. She was an amazing auntie to Jason Moore Jr, Hunter Moore, and Emma Lugo, and she would’ve done everything and anything for them.

    Kari had a vibrant personality and heart full of love. She was a proud New York Yankees fan and always found joy in simple pleasures such as; grabbing her favorite drink from Dunkin Donuts, sipping Mountain Dew and listening to music at any given moment. Music was a powerful outlet for her, often resonating with her deeply and personally.

    Kari loved gaming. Whether it was playing games on the computer, board games with family, or shuffling cards for a good poker night, she was an avid gamer. She also enjoyed grilling and spending time with friends and family.

    Kari will be remembered for her humor, kindness and ability to make those around her feel cared for. Her energy is unforgettable and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
