It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Karen Whelan on February 18, 2026. Born on April 25, 1946, Karen lived a life full of intensity, righteousness, kindness, and dedication.

Karen was a beloved figure in her community, most notably for her impact as a teacher in the Wappingers Central School District at Roy C. Ketchum High School. Winning multiple awards, she poured her heart and soul into shaping young minds. …
