It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Karen Webster, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Karen was born on January 11, 1951, and passed away in her sleep on October 26, 2025.

Karen was an outgoing, charismatic, and creative soul, known for her talkative nature. She possessed a vibrant character that drew people towards her, and her loss will deeply be felt by all who knew her.

In her lifetime, Karen achieved much and greatly influenced those around her. She held a Bachelor's degree in Commercial Art and had a rewarding career at REX Hospital, from which she retired in 2023. In her spare time she enjoyed baking, decorating her home, and gardening in her yard.

Karen was a devoted mother to her daughter, Kimberly Nelson, and doting grandmother to Audrey Mabire and Jeremy Nelson Jr., born in 2007 and 2015 respectively. She also found joy in her relationships with her siblings, Kathy Higgins and Thomas Higgins, who survive her, as they shared many memorable moments together. Karen was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Jean Higgins, and her brother, Kevin Higgins.

A resident of Raleigh for over 20 years, Karen enjoyed shopping and seeing the sights around town. She loved to bake, and her Halloween costumes were the highlight of every Fall. Her favorite vacation was always visiting her daughter and grandchildren in Florida.

Karen lived a fulfilling and rich life. Her spirit, warmth, and the love she shared will forever remain in our hearts. As we bid her farewell, let's remember the joy, laughter, and vibrant energy she brought into our lives.
