Karen's obituary
WEST LINN - On January 7, 2020, Karen Kay Scheer (McCallum) lost her battle with emphysema and cancer at her son's house in West Linn. Karen was surrounded by her family when she passed. Karen was born in Osmond, Nebraska to Andy and Phyllis McCallum. The family moved when she was young to Whittier, California, where she met and married her first husband, Joe Espinosa, who passed away in 1983. She then moved to Oregon in the same year where she would live the remainder of her life. Karen is survived by her two children, Kolene Hammer & Toby Espinosa, as well as her Daughter in Law, Lauren Espinosa. Her greatest joy in life was being “Grammy” to her 4 Grandsons; Cody Borst (26), Emmett Espinosa (15), Cam Hammer (12), and Roy Espinosa (12). She is also survived by her brother, Joe McCallum, many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand dogs (Bailey, Matts, Kona, Phyllis), and thousands of students who attended Lake Oswego High School that knew her simply as "Mrs. Scheer". There will be a Celebration of Life on February 23rd, from 2:00-5:00 at Mountain Park Rec Center in Lake Oswego.
