I've looked at Karen's picture so many times in total disbelief since hearing about her transition. I met her in 2006 at a church weekend event,
Encounter. She was my roommate. Instantly, I knew that I was in the presence of a genuine, kind, caring, authentic, sweet soul. I will cherish the times that I was around her, especially meeting her for breakfast once at a local restaurant. Her mama's home going was still fresh on her heart, and I could see that it still pained her. She loved family. She loved people. Karen knew what she wanted; she was assertive; she was confident; she was resplendently beautiful. Her spirit will forever shine among us. I pray that Holy Spirit will comfort, strengthen, and help her family and friends today and all of their tomorrows. Jesus has borne your griefs and carried your sorrows. Karen's fragrant, strong personality will be missed on this side. I know that the Lord will say to her well done good and faithful servant. I say, "Rest well my friend; we'll meet again."

My condolence to the Familia. I cried when I read Princess’s post on FB. My prayers are with you all. Ms. Karen had such a genuine kindness and that is how I remember her.

Ramirez Family, I had the honor of serving along side Karen several times over the years. Her love for her community shinned through her actions. She was a joy to be around. I am sorry for this difficult time and time and will be praying for peace that passes understanding. May the lord bless and keep you. Love, Emily Meza

Karen was my best friend/sister for 35 years and I will truly miss her:
I would like to share with you the Poem for my sister:
Unbroken Bond (Poem)
Two Angels sitting in a tree, one was set free and the other left wondering how this could be. When I look at the times we shared, now I know how much you cared. As I look up to my left the angel said to me dry those eyes, I am flying high above the sky, this is not a goodbye, I will see you on the other side.

Our sincerest and heartfelt compassion and prayers to you Marcos and your lovely family. This news hit hard. We laughed and had such a good time celebrating our friend Dexter, last year. Karen was so helpful to me on many occasions, but there is one that I was so grateful to her. May God continue to surround you all like a shield with His Love, Wisdom, Joy, and Understanding. Always love, Quanneise, Kirk, and Trinya
