Karen's obituary

We are sad to announce the passing of a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, Karen Evans, who left us on October 16, 2024. Karen was born on April 8, 1954, to Harold and Phyllis Greene. She was a cherished sister to Linda Heatherman, Bryan Greene, and Lani Greene.

In 1984, Karen shared her vows with Rick Evans, igniting a partnership full of love and adventure. Their family blossomed with the arrival of their children Meghan Lastrina and Matthew and Mikel Evans in 1987, 1989, and 1993 respectively. Karen's heart further swelled with joy upon the birth of her grandsons, Luka and Enzo Lastrina, in 2022 and 2024. She was also a dear mother-in-law to Nick Lastrina and Julie Jakobowski, a loved sister-in-law to Eileen Greene, and an aunt to Jarrett Heatherman, Kari-Ann Greene, and Allison Greene-Barrantes.

A celebration of life for Karen will be held on October 26, 2024, at 2:30 PM at Bicentennial Park in Hampton, NH. Attendants will remember Karen's warm personality, marked by kindness, love, joy, and confidence. Known fondly as the mother of surfers, and the queen of sea glass Karen had an affinity for the treasured trinkets of the sea.  Always putting everyone else first, she made sure you left the beach with a snack and a hug.

She loved to travel, with her family to Hawaii, San Diego, Florida, and Puerto Rico, as the beach was her happy place. Locally, she found comfort in the serenity of The Wall and Retirement Cove where she found her people.  Her beach family meant the world to Karen.  She was her happiest walking the beach and cheering on her boys surfing.

Her life lessons were centered around the belief that it's the thought that counts and the value of family above all. Karen excelled in showing everyone around her how to be an amazing mother.  From crafting to movies in her van, and pizza Fridays, Karen loved having a full house. One of her proudest accomplishments was becoming a grandmother, a role that brought her immense happiness.

Karen's legacy is one of love, happiness, and motherhood. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, yet her spirit will continue to glow in the hearts of her loved ones.
