Nexus fun at the Hard Rock. K…
2019, Seattle, WA, USA
Nexus fun at the Hard Rock. Karen was a huge support to our Nexus family and part of how we bonded and survived was happy hour ❤️ smiling and laughing and eating and enjoying each other.
I don’t share much on social media, but when I do it’s because of a special and blessed person that I got to know in the hockey world 7 years ago, as our hockey boys got to play together.  Hockey Moms, like Karen, don’t pass away, they just go to Heaven and regroup.  Lanigan & Lance.
It still doesn't seem real that Karen is gone. I keep lying to myself that she is just on an extended vacation. It is really the only way to get through work without my work best friend. She was my ride or die. Even though she was my boss, she was more like a friend and someone I knew I could always count on. I have never had a boss like Karen. She was honest, direct, funny and damn smart. I am so lucky to have had her in my life. Nobody will ever be able to replace Karen in my heart. I am so thankful to have had the chance to be with her the Friday before she passed. After a presentation we did together, she helped me carry my coffee to the lobby because I was struggling to hold it and walk with crutches. She gave me a hug goodbye and I watched the elevator doors close with her smiling inside. I can still see it like it was yesterday.

Karen was my first best friend. She was my confidant, my partner in crime. She came into my life and I wasn’t ready to let her go. I was not prepared for the pain of loosing her so soon. She loved all of her family, she loved life, worked hard and played hard. She was always so busy. She loved her hockey life and family and was so proud of Mason and his progress he had made over the years. She loved Reed and believed in him. She put everyone needs in front of her own. Right up to the day she died. She made our time together so special and I will miss her terribly. I will always cherish the time we had together and I believe we will see each other again in heaven. I love you Karen alway and forever❤️
Karen’s loving and caring nature made so many people feel comfortable, included and appreciated. She was dedicated to her family, work and community. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Spending time with Karen playing games, talking, and traveling made wonderful memories. Karen is truly missed by her family, people she worked with, sports families, and many others. Rest in peace Karen. Love Brad

Karen was the ultimate hockey mom, we started sitting on the cold bleachers when Mason was three years old. I think that hour we spent together was my favorite time. We solved any problems, got our schedule worked out for the month and laughed about how Mason would need to work on a skill.

Karen, you will always be in my heart. Love you very much. Mom.
