Karen Denise Krohn, 71, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, with her family by her side at her home in Hot Springs Village, AR.

Born in San Francisco, California on May 6, 1954, to Thomas and Jackie Hebson, Karen moved frequently throughout her youth due to her father’s work. After graduating high school, Karen joined the United States Air Force where she proudly served her country.

Karen later lived in Illinois where she would meet the love of her life and future husband, Kenneth Krohn. Married in November 1980, Karen and Ken enjoyed 46 beautiful and happy years together. They had two children, a son and a daughter, as well as several dogs and cats over the course of their time together.

Karen pursued higher education, receiving a master’s degree in education and later an Administrator’s Specialist degree. She dedicated her life to education, serving both as an elementary school teacher and later as a principal in Indiana, Michigan and later California. She touched the lives of countless students, families, and colleagues with her kindness, leadership, and unwavering commitment to helping others grow and succeed.

Karen loved spending time with her family, was a huge animal lover, a big fan of Scooby Doo and loved purple. She was soft-spoken and kind hearted, always looking for the positive in everyone.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Karl Krohn II; her son, Kenneth Karl Krohn III (Joan); her daughter, Kelly Denise Krohn; her grandchildren Gwenevere Krohn, Katja Krohn and Kenneth Krohn IV; and her dog Koko. Her family was the center of her world, and she will be remembered for her warmth, humility, and steadfast love.

Karen’s legacy lives on in the many lives she shaped and the family who cherished her deeply. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

Celebration of Life service will be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 199 Barcelona Rd. Hot Springs Village, AR on April 11th, 2026 at 2:00pm.
