Karen's obituary

Karen Kananian, age 63, passed away on November 24, 2025.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Harry and Ann Kananian, and the cherished sister of Jack Kananian (Mary) and Mary Bruno (Mike). Karen was a loving aunt to Christine(Tom), Mary Beth, Lisa (Steve), Amy(Rob), Jack (Becky), Jennifer (Maggie), Joy, and Jacqueline (Sam), and a devoted great-aunt to Sarah, Emily, Grace, Evan, Evgenia, Manuel, Mary, Jaxson, Kailyn, Madilyn, Dan, and Finn.

Karen was employed by the Cleveland Clinic for 22 years and was a proud resident of Broadview Heights. She also worked for the city’s recreation department and owned and operated an electrolysis business. She attended Cleveland State University, where she earned a degree in Communications.

Karen found joy in spending time with her large and close-knit family and adored her cats. Her warmth, kindness, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Friends may call at St. Gregory of Narek Armenian Church on Thursday, December 4, at 11:00 AM. Immediately following, the family invites guests to join them in the Armenian church hall for food and refreshments. Karen will be laid to rest at Highland Drive Cemetery in Brecksville in a private ceremony for immediate family.
