Karen's obituary
Our beloved Karen Kam, entered into God’s Kingdom on May 16, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with Stage 4 breast cancer. First diagnosed in October 2017, she bravely fought the disease, living as a cancer survivor for nearly eight years before her final battle. She was 64 years old.
Born to Toshio and Thelma on October 28, 1960, in Ewa, Hawaii, Karen's life was filled with cherished family moments. She found joy in adventures like dirt biking in Kahuku, snorkeling and boogie boarding at the beach, and enthusiastically cheering on her children at their various sports and activities. Karen attended Ewa Elementary and Ilima Intermediate before graduating from Campbell High School. After high school, she initially pursued cosmetology before earning her Associate's degree. She resided in Waipahu and Wahiawa before settling in Mililani, where she built a successful career in sales.
It was during her high school years that Karen met the love of her life, Jeff, a match truly made in heaven. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising their two children, Jordan and Nicole. A devoted servant to God, her faith was paramount in her life. She deeply loved her church, Mililani Community Church, and found immense joy in sharing the love and warmth of Jesus Christ with everyone she encountered. She will be remembered for her boundless generosity and her gift for making everyone feel loved.
Beyond her dedication to family and faith, Karen was an active and vibrant member of her community. She enjoyed participating in various activities, including pickleball, tai chi, and mahjongg, where she undoubtedly brought her characteristic warmth and spirit.
Karen is reunited in Heaven with her beloved father, Toshi, and her many cherished dogs. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jeff; her loving children, Jordan and his wife Tamlyn, and Nicole and her husband Andrew; her dear mother, Thelma; her brother, Neil, and his wife Milie.
