Karen's obituary

Karen Johnson Anderson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend, peacefully departed this life on November 24, 2025. Born on February 8, 1960, Karen was the cherished middle child of Otis and Mary Johnson. She grew up wrapped in the love of a close-knit family, a love she carried forward and multiplied throughout her life.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Otis Johnson, whom she held dearly in her heart. She is survived by her devoted mother, Mary Johnson, and her loving husband, Ennis Anderson III. Karen also leaves behind her brother, Rodney V. Johnson, and his wife Eunice; her sister, Daris Johnson; her children, Ennis Anderson IV and his wife Meredith, and Ennisia Anderson King and her husband Monterrio; as well as seven beautiful grandchildren Alyssa Anderson, Princeton King, Alivia King, Kelsey King, Elizabeth Jane Anderson, Amir Josiah King, and Ava Anderson. Her legacy also lives on through a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and dear friends who cherished her deeply.

Karen’s greatest joy in life was being a mother. She embraced the role with warmth, dedication, and a love that knew no limits. Family gatherings were her sanctuary—moments of laughter, stories, and connection. She treasured every opportunity to spend time with those she loved, and she always spoke truth with love.

She was known for her quick, unforgettable sarcasm that could light up a room. This personality trait endeared her to many. A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, Karen cheered faithfully win or lose reflecting her loyalty and passionate spirit. She was also a woman of deep faith, often lifting her voice in praise through song. Her music, like her presence, was a source of comfort and joy to all who heard it.

Karen also valued education. While getting her MBA, she looked for ways to give back to the community. After years in accounting, she decided to work in criminal justice to help those in the system improve their lives.

Karen will be profoundly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Her laughter, her strength, her unwavering love, and her joyful spirit will remain forever in our hearts. Though her earthly journey has ended, the beauty of her life and the love she shared will continue to inspire all whose lives she touched.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
