Karen's obituary
Karen Figueira, 86, of Naples, FL, passed away on February 08, 2025 surrounded by loved ones after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Karen was born on February 08 1939 to Alva Freese and Carol (Naylor) Meier in Anamosa, Iowa. As a young woman she loved dance and taught dancing at Arthur Murray Studio in Dubuque, Iowa. She always had a deep love for music! She had other careers as a secretary and as a realtor(where she met Ramon) but her favorite career was being a mom and wife. On March 2 1991 Karen and Ramon were wed. After she and Ramon retired in 2001, Ramon started cooking and Karen started painting their new cabin in Brown County, Indiana! For the next many years they spent most weekends at their cabin enjoying the great outdoors. They also enjoyed countless trips in their RV and spending their winters in Florida. One of their most favorite hobbies was spending time with their grandkids in the summers.
Karen was predeceased by her parents Alva and Carol, her brother Mike Riley, and her nephew Richmond Kromminga.
She is survived by her husband Ramon Figueira. Her daughter Kira Sayler (Mitch); their children Lauren Sayler, Linnea (David) Baza, and Scott Sayler. Her son Eric (Amanda) Rucker; their children Ru Rossi, and Jeremy Rucker. Her step son Jan Andres (Adriana) Figueira; their children Andres Figueira and Carlos Figueira. Her step daughter Hana Figueira; her children Samuel Mizrahi, Daniela (Arturo) Crespo. As well as great grandchildren Paola, Ignacio, and Santiago.
