I've known Mike since 1969 when he and I were classmates at the University of Oregon - and we both lived in Parsons Hall on campus.  I met Karen in 1980, when Mike and Karen were married in Los Angeles.  It was quite an adjustment for her to move up here to rainy Oregon - but she did well with it all.  And when Mike lauched his PT business in McMinnville, she managed the office.  They made such a good team.

Mike and Karen staged a big party at their house for Michelle's high school graduation - which I attended.   I remember receiving a nice hand-written thank you note from Michelle.  It was such a nice note - and I saved it.  Sometime later - I discovered others at the event got a note also.  Karen had suggested that Michelle write thank you notes to everyone - and being the sweet girl she has always been - she happily obliged !  Just one example of Karen's kindness and commitment to others.

Karen, a beautiful bridesmaid in our wedding in 1976. You will forever be missed and be close in my heart , Debbie Schlemmer
Karen and I were very close friends for over 60 years, since kindergarten. We lived close by in Garden Grove for many years, all the way through high school. She was a bridesmaid in our wedding in 1976, and since then I moved to Kansas City. I always remember her so caring and bubbly, with laughter and so many fun times we shared together, including swimming in my Garden Grove backyard pool. When you meet friends at such a young age, they are the ones you'll never forget and who will always hold a special place in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with the Curry and Sheegog Family. God Bless all of you. Karen, you will forever be missed.

We were next-door neighbors with the Currys for a few years. One year, Karen, Brian. and Michelle went to California and Mike stayed home. Meanwhile Mike put up a For Sale sign on the house, as a joke. He also dyed his hair and Karen said that she told the kids, “No, that’s not your Daddy” when they saw Mike at the airport. Karen said she was laughing so hard all the way home that her mouth hurt!

Karen also volunteered in my kindergarten classroom and did great work with kids who loved getting one-on-one reading time. Visiting with Karen at the gym was a highlight and made a gym workout go more enjoyably. Karen will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with you all.
