Karen Ann Couves passed away on September 6, 2025, on the descent of hiking Mount Kilimanjaro. It was only fitting that the most badass woman and mother accomplished her 30-year goal of summiting the tallest mountain in Africa before her peaceful and early departure at the age of 57.
