We are devastated to announce that Karen Toth Climer died on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at age 57 after a long, courageous battle with chronic illness. She is preceded in death by her father, Ted Toth, and older sister, Susan Toth Bernard. She is survived by her two beloved daughters, Melaina and Brooklyn — the lights of her life. Also survived by her mother, Rose Carol Toth; Siblings, Douglas & Sue Toth and Peggy & David Galimberti; Nieces/nephews, Andy & Anjela Galimberti and Joe, Danny, & Michael Toth — all of whom she adored.

Karen was born on June 15, 1967 in Saline, Michigan, where she lived and grew up in a happy family. This is also where she met her lifelong best friends, Claudia and Simone. She attended Saline High School, where she was very active in the theater program. She loved music, singing, & she spent several years playing the cello.

Karen married Steven Climer in 1990 and soon after graduated from Eastern Michigan University in education. She was a teacher for many years, then became a stay at home mom to raise her daughters. She was a dedicated member in the Wayne-Westland school district and enjoyed scrapbooking and gardening in her free time. She returned to school for a degree in massage therapy in 2013 as well as starting work as a part time teaching aide to elementary students in her later life.

Karen was such a kind, beautiful soul who cared so deeply about others, and loved her family beyond measure. She was incredibly passionate about social justice and making sure everyone around her felt loved. Her smile, laugh, and spirit will be missed by all who were lucky enough to cross paths with her.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at St. Paul UCC in Saline, on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Visitation at 11am and the service at 12pm noon. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to her memorial fund on this website to cover unexpected costs.
