Known for her quiet but feisty nature, Karen was a pillar of strength for her family and community. She was an avid reader who found solace in the quiet moments with a good book. She also cherished the time she spent in her favorite local place, Anton's, a testament to her fun side.
One of Karen's most adored vacation spots was Hawaii, a place she visited often to enjoy its captivating beauty and serene environment. Her memories of these trips were sources of joy and peace throughout her life.
Karen's dedication to her work in public school education spanned over three decades. Her commitment and passion had a profound impact on the lives of countless children.
Perhaps the greatest testament to Karen’s life is her loving marriage to her late husband, Raymond Capps, for 63 wonderful years. Together, they raised two daughters, demonstrating their commitment to family values and their innate ability to nurture and guide.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Gocken. Preceding her in death were her husband, Raymond Capps, her daughter, Lisa Capps, and her brother, Jack Sherman. She will be profoundly missed by Kimberly and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
