als wir erfahren haben, dass unsere liebe

Cousine Karen so plötzlich durch eine schwere

Krankheit von ihren liebsten scheiden musste,

hat uns das unendlich traurig gestimmt.

Wir denken noch gerne an eueren Besuch vor 15 Jahren zurück.

Allzu gerne hätten wir dich lieber Carlos, Ariana und Alyssa mit

unserer Cousine Karen in Weihern begrüßen wollen.

Dear Carlos, Arianna and Alyssa

When we heard about the passing of our dear cousin Karen, who was taken from her loved ones at the hands of a terrible disease, we were struck with grief.

We still remember your visit 15 years ago fondly.

We would have loved to have you visit us again in Weihern, Carlos, Arianna and Alyssa, along with our cousin Karen.

We wish to express our love to Karen and offer our condolences.

Lieber Carlo, liebe Kinder, Karin ist meine Nichte und sie hat mich durch die Fotos, die wir regelmäßig von meinem Bruder bekamen, durch unser Leben begleitet.

Wir trauern sehr mit euch und mit meinem Bruder John .

Fühlt euch alle lieb umarmt von eurer Tante Maria.

I have been thinking about you and your family since I heard the news of Karen's passing.  I first met Karen in the 90's.  We taught together at Shoemaker School and were partners at Wescosville Elementary.  I will always remember Karen as a person of substance.  She was genuine, supportive, creative, and dedicated to her family and career.  Karen was a person you could trust and depend on.  Her laughter was contagious, and we got through some tough teaching times laughing about what we couldn't change.  Karen and I spent hours scrapbooking and exchanging family stories.  We used to regularly attend the Leesport Craft Fair.  On our way home we laughed so hard about what our husbands would say when they saw our purchases.  I feel extremely fortunate that Karen and I had a chance to catch up in June over lunch.  We picked up right where we left off.  She showed me the latest pictures of her girls and described how proud she was of them.  During this extremely difficult and challenging time, I will continue to reflect upon how Karen made a difference in the lives of so many.   Additionally, Carlo, Ariana, Alyssa, and family...I will be thinking about you (even when you don't know it) and the huge challenge of this loss.  

I will forever celebrate and miss you, Karen!

So sadden to hear if Karen’s passing. She has taken her light to heaven.
