karen's obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Karen Berndt on November 10, 2022. Born on October 14, 1947, Karen lived a life filled with intelligence, wit, and kindness, always bringing joy and laughter to those around her.

Karen was a sweet and loving person, providing a beacon of light and support for her family and all those fortunate to have crossed her path. Her pragmatic approach to life served as a reminder for us not to worry about what people think of us, as they too, are busy worrying about what we think of them.

Karen's greatest accomplishments bore witness to her keen intellect and sheer determination. She held an M.B.A from The University of Michigan, a testament to her lifelong commitment to learning and personal growth. Among her proudest moments, however, was becoming a mother to her two wonderful children.

She leaves behind her beloved daughters, Lisa Berndt and Nicole Shaw, who will forever cherish their mother's memory. Karen is also survived by her dear sisters, Ann Ceresa and Christine Bates, who will continue to honor their sister's legacy in their own lives.

A remarkable woman, Karen will be remembered as a shining example of kindness and love, balanced by practicality. Her legacy will continue to positively affect those who knew her and will serve as a guiding light in the lives of her family. Karen's spirit and wisdom will forever live on in those who loved her.
