I met Karen through her daughter, Jessica. At first, she was just my friend’s mom. But then I started doing Karen’s hair, and we spent more time together, one on one.  As I got to know her, Karen became my friend too. She was silly and smart, strong and loving and I always admired her. The love she had for her family was so obvious and so profound. I’m so glad I got the chance to know her and call her a friend.

Karen was always ready to have a good time and share some gossip or stories.  We were fast friends at work and  Karen was exceptional as category manager and mentor. She could run circles around most people, but would never admit it.  I knew if her glasses came off whoever was on the other end of that discussion should run including myself.  She was simply the best.
