Kailee Dean Schmidt, 29, of Belle Fourche, SD, passed away on September 19, 2023 in Casper, WY. She spent her last days with family in hospice care after an extended illness.  She was born on January 25, 1994 in Rapid City, SD. 

Kailee is survived by her mother Cassandra Hale, father Russell Schmidt and stepmother Shalene, siblings Madeline Schmidt and her husband Josh, Benjamin Schmidt, John Hale, Jess Hale, and Iva Hale, as well as her grandfather Jerry Schmidt, grandmother Mary Stradtman and husband Lester, and grandfather Bill Watkins.  She is also survived by her fiancé Robert Kenstler and his son Nate, a nephew Luke, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother Patricia Schmidt.

Kailee was a military brat who lived all over the country growing up, including Montana, Texas, Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky before going back to her roots in South Dakota. Kailee was an animal lover who was inseparable from her pit bull Aurora. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hiking. Hobbies included photography and sketching.

A private family memorial service will be held to celebrate Kailee's life.

In lieu of flowers or monetary contributions to the family, Kailee would have loved memorial donations to a local pit bull rescue in your area.
