Justin's obituary

Justin David Herd was born at Altus AFB, Oklahoma on June 26 ,1986. He slipped from this stage of life to the next at his home January 3,2024. Justin lived in Oklahoma City metro since 1990 and graduated from Westmoore High School 2004. Over the years he worked at Blockbuster, CDR, Vintage Stock, GameStop GameCrazy, and the City of Oklahoma City. Justin D. Herd was the author of the Fantasy Noir Novel , Of Gods and Madness: The Faithful.

He was also the host of the Dubious Consumers podcast, as well as his video essay channels, Dubious Consumption and All Sewn Up and a YouTuber. He was a freelance developmental editor as well. He loved stories and movies that are "more interesting than good" and spent a lot of time exploring this oft-forgotten subset of media. When he's not meticulously falling down a rabbit hole, he .. well, let's be honest: he was always fawning over something new.

Proceeded in death were his grandparents Joy Billington Hardy and Norman Hardy and Polly Blair Herd and Primas “Tiny” Herd. Justin leaves behind his grief stricken children Graham and Sloan Herd. Justin adored his two children stating frequently they were his main focus in life and his reason to live and that being their dad was his greatest privilege. Each night he brought every book to life with unique voices and acting out scenes from their favorite books and stories. He is survived by his heart broken parents Virginia Ann Hardy-Herd and David Earl Herd of Oklahoma City. Numerous cousins, aunts and uncles throughout the country. His absence will leave an incredibly huge number of dear friends involved in the world of karaoke. He performed in and around the metro area for a number of years as time allowed where he was a very popular enthusiastic entertainer and had an extensive, appreciative and vocal fan base. He was a regular at Kat’s Tavern and Shiloh’s.
