Junior's obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Junior  Wilbert "Roy" Jones.

Born on September 26, 1931, and he  departed on November 5, 2023. His spirit, zest for life, and determination will sincerely be missed.

Junior, a husband, father, brother and loyal friend, is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Jones. Whom he shared an unwavering bond of matrimony with since 1952. Their 72-year-long union is a testament to their enduring love for each other, and one of Junior's most significant accomplishments. He is also survived by his daughters, Corinn White, Robin Jones, Brenda Yarbrough, and Kelly Reutter as well as his sons-in-law, Tim White, Bob Henn and Jack Reutter.

Junior was proud of his grandsons Dan St Charles, Brian Yarbrough, Adam Yarbrough his wife Jam, Cory Yarbrough, Maxwell Reutter, and great-grandsons, Seth his wife Valerie and son River, Tyler and Josh Farley, and Rod St Charles and Alyssa and child Rydar, also Mackenzie Wheeler (Allens daughter) who survive him. His memory lives on through his surviving grandchildren and great grandchildren, He is predeceased by two beloved grandchildren, Allen St Charles and Jesse Farley, who no doubt welcomed him with open arms in heaven.

He is also survived  by his sister, Patsy Scanlan,  the last of 12 children.

Shortly after marrying Marilyn,  Junior was drafted.  He  served in Korea, as a cook and prison  gaurd in the US Army. An avid hunter  and fishermen, he would sometimes hunt local game to serve at mealtime for the other soldiers. Following his honorable discharge, Junior returned to his job at Quanex tube mill, South Lyon, Michigan, his hometown.  Starting as a floor sweeper, Juniors unwavering work ethic eventually led him to the position of factory General foreman. He retired in 1985.

Following his retirement, he lived his remaining years enjoying the warm sunshine of Stuart, FL, before moving to Spring Hill, Florida in 2005.    His generosity, loyalty, fearlessness in sharing the word of God and loving nature was a beacon of light to us all. A  skillful Jack of all trades, he had the ability to fix almost anything. Junior built several homes over the years, a true testimony to his skills. He was a master at wood working,  even building cabinetry and custom furniture during his first 10 years of retirement.

Junior's life was guided by three fundamental principles: God, family, and country. His message to the world, in essence, was to hold firm to these principles and everything else will fall into place. Juniors belief in the promise and rewards of Heaven were unwavering and absolute,  but he also never hesitated to tell us the harsh truths when they needed to be heard.

He was an iconic figure whose legacy will live on as an example of a life well-lived for God.

A celebration of Junior's life will be held on February 3, 2024, at 2:00 PM at 5456 Deltona Blvd. We invite you to join family and friends to celebrate the exemplary life Junior led.
