June's obituary

Avid traveler, June Valentour, 88, reached her ultimate heavenly destination September 20th and reunited with her son who passed 41 years ago. Originally from Youngstown, OH, June went to Muskingum College in Ohio where she met and fell in love with her husband of 67 years, Jack Valentour. She lived and raised her family in Lisle, IL, and retired to Hilton Head where she spent the last 29 years. June adored her family and was a nature-loving, generous woman who was unbelievably accepting of people yet incredibly frank. She placed her faith in Jesus and was a member of Hilton Head Presbyterian Church. From the pyramids of Egypt to China and the heather fields of Scotland, travel was her passion. She leaves behind her husband, Jack. She is survived by her brothers, William Davis, Jr. of Canfield, OH and John Davis of Chatsworth, CA. and was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Davis and parents, William Davis and Anna Elizabeth Haddix. She had 5 children: Jeanne Williams (Larry) of Bluffton, SC, Lance Valentour (Debbie) of Naperville, IL, Elizabeth Wagner (John) of Greenfield, IN, Louie Valentour (Phyllis ) of Bolingbrook, IL, and Johnny Valentour (predeceased); 9 grandchildren: Jeni Zapor of Summerville, SC, Laura Brady-Allen of Los Angeles, CA, John Brady of Prairieville, LA, Eric Valentour of Naperville, IL, Heather Wagner, Angie Wagner-Gilbert, Jordan Wagner, and Brian Wagner of Greenfield, IN, and Erin Valentour of Chicago, IL; and 13 great grandchildren: Michael, Case, Phoebe, Julian, Abigail, Ayden, Aislynn, Amadeus, Ezra, Madison, June, Archer, and Chloe. The family would like to thank Coastal Carolina Hospital and The Palmettos for their exceptional care and compassion. Family celebration of life will be held locally with formal graveside service will be held in McDonald, Pennsylvania at a later date.
