June's obituary
June was a fun-loving, kind-hearted Mom and everybody loved her. Not that there weren't times when she could be a bit feisty, but those were few and short-lived. June lived north of San Francisco, California until November of 2017 and enjoyed her daily walks and taking yoga in the mountains and forested areas of Mill Valley, San Anselmo and San Rafael. Mom always loved animals and frequently fed, walked and took care of them while their owners traveled or vacationed. She took the best care of cats and dogs and word got out in her community, so she had a bunch of four-footed furry friends along with their families!
June moved to Redlands in southern California to be near her daughter, Penny in 2017 where she spent a lot of time with Penny & Nancy. Mom lived to be 94 awesome years young! She was a smoker all of her life and even towards the end, it was something that gave her joy, which I could never understand as I didn't like the smell and it would always make me chough and choke. But still, I was the one who bought them for her. No one could ever talk here into quitting . . . for very long.
Mom was full of surprises. One day I took her to Keiser for a bladder issue. I pushed her in her wheelchair and when it was our turn, we approached the front desk to check in. Behind the desk sat four blank faced receptionists. After waiting, one of the ladies looked up and asked Mom what she was there for. Without missing a beat, Mom burst out saying "I'm pregnant!" Everybody in the room was cracking up!
At another visit, the doctor treated Mom then got chatty and asked me what did Mom do in life before she retired? I said "Mom was a stripper!" The doctor burst out laughing and Mom said, "Gee Penny, I don't remember that!"
June went to heaven on November 14, 2023. She just got weaker and weaker and passed in her sleep.
Now I can just see her sitting out in beautiful nature, talking and laughing with Jesus, holding onto a cup of coffee and a cigarette. Too funny!
