June's obituary

June "Junebug" Ethridge, 87, of Bellevue, NE, passed away on November 15, 2025.

June was born in Camden, NJ on January 11, 1938. Her first job was at Campbell Soup Company in Camden, NJ before meeting Bill and marrying into the Air Force! June and Bill were stationed at many bases - Wichita, KS, Goose Bay, Labrador, Newfoundland/Canada, Springfield, MA, Columbus, MS, before moving to and retiring in Bellevue, Nebraska!

She was chairman of the Bellevue Historical Society and was a long-time Tour Guide for the City of Bellevue - Fontenelle Bank, Presbyterian Church, Log Cabin and Cemetery. She was a “lifetime girl scout,” serving as a girl scout troop leader and district service leader for the Girl Scouts long after her own daughters moved on. She loved her St. James Methodist Church activities the most serving as Sunday School Superintendent, President and Vice-President of the St. James (UMW) Women's Group, UMW state of Nebraska women's groups, lay leader for church services - anywhere there was a need. She also really enjoyed her bible study groups and working the rummage sales alongside all her fellow UMW members.

June is survived by daughters, Kelly Ethridge and Kristal Ethridge, NE, sister Denise Maloy and brother-in-law Bucky Maloy, NJ. Preceded in death by husband William G. Ethridge, NE, sister-in-law Sarah Nelson, MS, sisters Carol Fennimore, NJ, Patti Knettle, NJ and brother Leroy Knettle, CO, Nieces Michele (Rocky) Christy, NJ, Carol Fennimore, NJ, and several nieces and nephews. Memorials to Hospice House – The Josie Harper Residence, Omaha, NE. 

 Celebration of June’s Life, Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025, 11:30 am, St. James United Methodist Church, 1501 Franklin Street, Bellevue, NE.
