June's obituary

June Marie Tyler Crockett, 85, of Anthem,AZ, formally from VA, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 with complications of COVID.

June was born on August 8, 1935 to Paul and Ruth Pruitt on Tangier Island, VA. After graduating from Middlesex High School in 1953. She went on to study psychology at the University of Mary Washington later in life.

In 1948, she met John Tyler, and they wed in 1952, going on to have 3 children, Mark Tyler, Dawnn Kemp and Ruth Preddy.

When June had Mark, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. June excelled at supporting members of her family through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Whether that was supporting her husband or children through a difficulty or encouraging them through a goal, she made it her mission to improve the lives of others. She loved to travel with her husband while he was in the Army and later on family trips. June was an avid baker and even ran her own cake business for a while. She loved to sew and could make just about anything.

June was passionate about her church family, Bible study and singing in the choir and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her church. She was a hospice volunteer and worked in the Orange County Schools. We will miss her greatly.

June was predeceased by John Tyler, Mark Tyler and Warren Crockett ( her 2nd husband). She is survived by Dawnn and Larry Kemp, Ruth and Mark Preddy, Granddaughters: Brittany Kemp Ruby, Maria Preddy and Melanie Preddy and Great-Granddaughter Felicity Ruby .

The family has decided to not hold a funeral at this time due to the pandemic but will have a celebration of June's life later.
