June Elaine Campbell
June died in Chester County Hospital on January 10th at 11:00 PM of metastatic lung cancer. Offering her comfort were Karen Snyder and Chaplain Suzanne Roose.
June is survived by her brothers: Roy who lives in Texas and Brian who lives in Portland Oregon. June was predeceased by her parents, Carmen, and Roy, who divorced when June was in her teens. She was never close to her father, but late in life her mother had a long-term relationship with Augusto Rivera, who June called Papa; he lost his life tragically in 2011. June’s close family members include her nephew Graham and his daughter Gabby and June’s nephew Brandon and his son Xavier. June was also close to Graham’s mother Helen, and also kept in touch with her mother’s relatives in Puerto Rico.
June had a small but treasured circle of friends including Susan O’Connell, her friend of 40 years as well as Karen Snyder and Helen Eckel-Wiener (Graham’s mother).
June was a gracious lady who showed warmth and compassion to her family and friends. She had a BA in Journalism from West Chester University where she was on the Dean’s List. June worked at various places over the years including Vishay Intertechnology and Kmart. She was working at Giant at the time of her death. Her coworkers there miss her.
June had an encyclopedic knowledge of all things Hollywood and enjoyed watching movies and reading books, especially biographies. People who knew her will miss her wry sense of humor, keen fashion sense, and amazing patience.
June’s body has been cremated and her ashes will be interred at Saint Agnes Catholic Cemetery in West Chester, Pennsylvania. A memorial will be held at 2:00 on March 18th at the Mauger-Givnish Funeral Home, 24 Monument Avenue, Malvern, PA.
