Julie's obituary
Julie Lois Griffith, age 59, of Monroeville, AL, passed away on June 22, 2023. She had an energy that lit up a room and loved others deeply. Her smile and laugh were intoxicatingly contagious, as well as her warmth. Julie had a genuine and kind way about her, always ready to share her stories and play her favorite oldies music with anyone who would listen.
Julie is survived by her sister, Kelley Cochran; her daughter, Brooke Shirley; her daughter and daughter-in-law, Ally Griffith and Lindsay Hass; her daughters, Sarah Long and Shelby Long; her granddaughters, Kylie Ferry, Kameren Ferry, Alice Ferry, and Gracee Long; and her grandson, Drake Nettles. She was preceded in death by her father, Teddy Jolly; her mother, Genez Jolly; her second husband, Albert Earl Griffith; and her third husband, Randall Scott Long.
Throughout her life, Julie enjoyed caring for children. She worked for various daycares in the Jacksonville area and also drove school buses for several years. She formed many friendships throughout her career and made a positive impact on the lives of the children she cared for.
Julie's greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She cherished being a loving and doting "Mimi" to all of them, but her grandson, Drake, held a special place in her heart. Julie understood the value of every moment, having experienced significant loss in her own life, and she treasured the time she had with her loved ones. She will be dearly missed.
