Julie's obituary
Katharina Juliana (Julie) Tomelty, 80, of Rogue River, Oregon, passed away on April 12, 2022 after a battle to recover from a stroke and Covid.
Julie was a survivor from beginning to end. Born during wartime in Germany in 1941 to Katharina Zepp of Manheim, and Max Renaux, a German citizen of Northern France descent. Losing both parents to the war, Julie was orphaned at three years old and was raised by nuns until the age of 16.
She married, American, Richard Rose in 1960 and gave birth to a son, Steven, and her daughter, Christine before immigrating to America in 1963. First stop, New York City! While residing at the military base in New Jersey, Julie was a quick learner and settled into American life with much excitement. Her son Thomas and daughter Kathy were born and later the military relocated the family to Klamath Falls, Oregon. The hustle and bustle of New York stood no chance compared to the thick forests of Oregon that resembled Julie's home country. While the marriage did not last, God brought her to the place where she would carve out the rest of her life.
The perfect vision that is Grants Pass gave life to her soul and genuine friends who lasted a lifetime gave her purpose. Julie was blessed. Life is full of tribulations, but Julie always knew how to sweeten things up -it was easy as pie.
"Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him."
Thessalonians 4:13-14
