Julia "Judy" Brooks, 71, of Lafayette, AL passed away peacefully on September 25, 2022, after a lengthy battle with dementia. Judy grew up in Lafayette, AL, a town she loved and after living in Beulaville, NC for over 30 years, eventually moving back in 2013.  

She had a passion for animals, horses and dogs especially and enjoyed showing horses for a number of years. Judy will be dearly missed and always remembered as someone who always had a smile and laughter for you. 

 Judy was predeceased by her husband, Olin, her sister Barbara and her brother Dick. She is survived by her daughter Chris Cherry (Don) of Mount Olive, her son Shane Brooks (Haley) of Gowan, MI. Morgan Williams (Aaron) of Wilmington, NC. Grandchildren Branden Maready (Brittani) Benson, NC, Kassie Pope (Bobby) Mount Olive, NC, Ayvah and Eyden Brooks Gowan, MI. A great granddaughter Avery Pope and great grandson, Ayden Williams. Four sisters Avie, Tommie, Edna, Helen and brothers James and Robert. 

Judy requested a celebration of life be held in her honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. We request all of Judy’s loved one to join us in celebrating their beautiful life at 284 N Blizzard Town Road, Beulaville, NC on October 16 at 2 pm.
