Background
In honor and memory of Judy Daniel this scholarship will be awarded to University of the West Indies law students who display a commitment to Environmental Law through their studies and involvement in environmental initiatives outside of school.
Judy Daniel had a robust passion for protecting the environment especially for small islands in the Caribbean. She functioned as a pioneer in the field, serving on various boards, institutions, committees throughout the region and internationally. She dedicated over 30 years of work toward environmental regulations, wastewater management and consulting expertise for several countries and prominent organizations such as the United Nations and FIFA.
Judy embodied an unparalleled passion for the environment, relentlessly advocating for and drafting laws on pollution control, environmental health, conservation of natural resources and waste management laws. She was highly respected in her practice in the Caribbean region and internationally. Her enthusiasm for her work and her selfless nature dedicating long hours of work to complete assignments have left a long lasting impact on the environment and humanity.
This scholarship will serve to keep Judy's memory and passion for country, environment, and community alive as it will empowers others to protect and advance our beautiful Caribbean islands. Contribute
