Judy, a natural poet and artist, had an infectious giggle and kept her girlish sense of wonder until the last few years of her life. When she lost most of her sight, she could no longer paint or drive. But she enjoyed coming to our weekly writing group, just to listen, driven there and back by members. We urged her to keep writing, but she had lost the desire. Perhaps she needed to see, not just to hear, her words. And yet, even her increasing dementia was somehow poetic. If you asked her how she was feeling, you might get a few cryptic words, but never a complaint. Perhaps she was afraid to say anything that would make others sad, or she simply had no words for the black hole that was swallowing her. And yet she radiated kindness, as always, and even a kind of happiness at having us all with her that was immensely touching. We will miss her. Today I made a donation to Long Island Cares in her honor, which is not among the charities listed on this site. Judy loved to share food with others (we always brought food to share at our meetings) and this group, based in Hauppauge, LI, has been doing a wonderful job taking food to the needy in our area during the Covid pandemic.

Yes, Mrs. Saccucci was a very special lady. I have known her since the day I was born! She was my mom’s dear friend and I am friends with her daughters Joanna and Maria. She’s been with me and my family through good times and bad. She made my wedding veil 33 years ago and always remembered my birthday. I will be forever grateful she was able to come for a visit at my house in August. She made a difference in my life and I will treasure her forever. All my love, Laurette Ryan

So sorry for the world to lose such an intelligent interesting lady.. her life was filled with knowledge and art. She raised two remarkable daughters. And we will miss her greatly.

I have been so fortunate to have had a 50 year friendship with this amazing woman. In 1970 I was a brand new first grade teacher at Honey Hollow where Judy taught kindergarten. During recess, as we sat on the playground in those little pink chairs, a lifelong friendship was born. I often thought how lucky her students were to have such a wonderful teacher.
I learned so much from Judy. She often said “Things will work out the way they’re supposed to.” Those wise words have seen me through many of life’s difficulties.
Judy was incredibly intelligent, a wonderful artist and always very independent. The last few months were difficult for her when she was unable to drive and was not as independent as she wished to be. But this gave us the opportunity to spend time together and have great conversations about the fun times we had at Honey Hollow. I cherish our friendship and the memories of all the great times we shared.
I feel blessed to have had such a wonderful friend. She will be missed and never forgotten.

My name is Sheila Breck. I worked with Judy in Honey Hollow many years ago. I continued enjoying her friendship with art and poetry over the years. We had a group that would meet one a month. And talk about what we were doing in the arts. She was always the first there. She said it was her teacher training She will be missed

We mourn the loss, of our dear sweet Judy...
She was goodness personified, gentle with a kindness that we were blessed to share in.
I loved her thoughtful poetry, her whimsical collages and charming jewelry which she generously produced for us all to enjoy.
She will be missed with sadness & remembered with great fondness.
With love Debra Malian Seferian
