Obituary

Judith "Judy" Jarvis, 79, of Hilliard,OH, passed away on September 19, 2023 after a five year battle with Frontotemporal dementia. Judy passed away peacefully, at her daughter's home, surrounded by love!

Judy was born on February 28th, 1944 to William and Emma Jean Grubb in Columbus, OH. After graduating from Linden High School in 1961, she landed her first job as a cashier for Big Bear Grocery.

In 1962, she met Don Jarvis, the handsome …

Personal note from Judy's daughter Tamara

“My dear sweet mom! I thought I was prepared. Watching you for the past 5 years, as a brain disorder slowly took over your mind, creating an inner battle that consumed you! I thought I would feel relief, but all I feel is emptiness!”
She loved GARDENING in her flower gardens, she spent many hours planting, nurturing and watering! I always enjoyed going to all the plant nurseries with her! She would come back home with a car loaded with trays and pots of flowers! She passed that love on to me and I too find great joy and peace in my own gardens….. spending hours surrounded by color and scents that can calm my mind and heal my heart! “Mom, you had no final wishes, so I thought the best way to remember you, to honor the wonderful mother, wife, grandma, friend you were to so many, would be to sprinkle you among everyone’s gardens! I believe you would like that! Oh how our gardens will flourish!”
I remember when she bought that colorful skirt here in Arizona from the shop I worked in! I believe she bought 5 as she couldn’t pick which one she loved the most! SHOPPING……that was one of her favorite things to do too! She knew how to shop for a sale and she always had a bag of returns in the car. She never left home without her coupon book! The kids would even ask her if she had her coupons as we backed out of the driveway.
CAREGIVER, NANNY, HOSTESS she was to all! Always caring, giving, welcoming and providing to anyone in need of assistance! “That kitchen of yours was always open and ready for company. You made time to visit and tend to anyone who walked in! I wonder now how you had the time to do all you did! Wow! You were a Wonder Woman! You were and will always be remembered as a special and generous lady!” Such a big heart!
“I promised you on your last morning that I would take care of dad! With all that you have taught me and passed on to me, I will carry on just as you had for the past 60 years of being his wife! Mom, my heart and soul hurts so badly right now, but I know you will always be right beside me! We will all be okay! We love you so much mom!”
SEE YOU IN THE GARDEN!
