Judy's obituary
Judith Anne Alexander , age 74, went home to be with the Lord on April 7, 2023. She was born on August 21, 1948 in Buffalo, New York to Casimir and Pauline Szczepanski. At age 19, Judith married Nicholas Parente, Jr., and together they had 3 children, Dawn, Tony, and Nikki. In 1988, Judy was widowed, at the age of 40. In 2008, she married Phil Alexander, who also had grown children of his own.
For many years, Judy enjoyed a fulfilling career as an occupational therapy assistant, working with patients with brain injuries, the geriatric population, and home health care rehabilitation. Apart from work, she fully embraced her role as a mom, grandmother, listener, and friend. Judith was creative and artistic. All of her grandkids have fond memories of making arts and crafts with Grandma through the years. If they had an idea, she could make it a reality. Beyond that, though, she was incredibly talented, helping her youngest daughter make many grandkids’ themed birthdays a success with amazing decor and cakes. She even made the flower arrangements for both of her daughter’s weddings! Judith was always thrilled to host parties and feed the masses. No friend can ever say they left Judy’s house hungry. Not only did she feed people well, but she loved them even better. She had a unique ability to just be present in the moment, to listen, and to offer encouragement to everyone that needed it. She was a strong support and a second mom to many through the years.
Judith is preceded in death by her first husband Nicholas, her parents Casmier and Pauline Szczepanski, and her siblings, Casmier Szczepanski, jr., Dolores Hoppe, and Robert Szczepanski.
Judith is survived by her husband, Phil Alexander, daughter Dawn Stoltz (husband Tony) of Garrison,TX, Son, Tony (wife Abbie) of Humble, TX, and daughter, Nikki (husband Matt) of Katy, TX, Ed (Wife Misty) of Longview,TX, and Josh of Portsmouth, VA, 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held to honor Judith on April 29, 2023 at Katy Bible Church 2500 Ave D. Katy, TX 77493. The service will begin at 11 AM, with a lunch reception to follow.
Because Judy was passionate about making sure no one ever went without food, and she regularly helped provide food for those in need, we ask that instead of flowers, you honor her by making donations to the Katy Christian Ministries food pantry.
