My great aunt Juanita used to do a lot of acting, musicals, I believe she told me she even did stand-up. When I was 15 just turning 16 I tried out for the world champions of performing arts and actually made the team for the US. I chose modeling, acting and singing for the categories that I competed in out in LA. I had to figure out my songs as well as a couple of monologues. When she found out about this, she asked if I wanted any help and I told her I would love that. I had a coach that gave me some stuff, but they weren't really that helpful. I actually wrote one of my own monologues and she helped me as well as helped with one that my coach gave me, but I had to significantly shorten it. We spent hours going over different songs and figuring out those monologues and getting everything down. I think that was the most time I ever got to spend with her besides at family functions. That one on one time doing something that we both loved so much is something that had such a big impact on me and I loved and appreciated so much. That day was so full of fun and love and laughter. That is my favorite memory and one that I can surprisingly remember vividly and will always cherish. Aunt Juanita was always full of love and laughter, and the best hugs. She is so loved and will be very missed. Now she is with her brother George ( my gpa) who pre-deceased her by four days, and was her best friend, and all of their other loved ones. I know she's up there singing and dancing and having a grand old time reuniting with everyone up there.
