On behalf of the Smith family in Ginger Ridge, I send sincere condolences to the family of Ms. Juanita Hamilton (Mazie).

She was a kind and sincere woman of God and an incredible mentor and teacher who taught me and many other students.

I can remember vividly those years when I was a student in her class. She was a no nonsense person who always looked out for the best interest of her students. Her abilities as a counsellor, mentor and guide, and her passion for teaching have ignited a love for learning within me that will last a lifetime.

Likewise, her impact and the influence she had on her students are far reaching. She has made a profound difference in the lives of those around her, touching hearts and inspiring minds in many ways.

May the Almighty continue to comfort the hearts of her family and bring healing in this difficult time. You are in our thoughts and prayers.  🙏🏻🙏🏻

Maize has been a beacon of light and hope to those who came in contact with her. She was a rare gem who cared selflessly and loved deeply. She never hesitated to give a comforting word, lend a helping hand or share a smile. I will cherish the memories while holding on to the blessed hope that we shall meet in the sweet by and by.

Please convey my heartfelt condolences to the family. I worked at the same High school with Ms. Hamilton for a few years and found her to be a true friend. She will be missed, but I am sure is in the arms of her creator, resting in eternal peace and no longer in pain. RIP my friend.
Mrs. Hamilton as she’s referred to by my mother-in-law and my late stepdaughter Chantel. Mrs. Hamilton had a bond with Chantel as a student at Taicus Golding High. Not only as a vice principal but also a mentor. She consistently supports her past students and parents beyond the walls of high school which is an exceptional attribute. When Chantel went missing; She always call to check in with Mrs. Blake, Chantel’s grandmother where she would pray and encourage her. The day before her Brother Earl left Jamaica, Mrs. Hamilton, on her sick bed, told him to go check on Susan Blake of which he did.. that’s the thoughtful, selfless person she is.
Mrs. Hamilton has taught us so much through her relationship with others and her devotion to the Lord. She has lead by example and we are more than grateful to share with her and her memories will always be apart of our lives. Sleep in peace Mrs. Hamilton. You have done your job on this earth well.
In response to "What act of kindness did you witness from Juanita?"

Please accept my deepest and most sincere condolences to the family.

May her soul rest in peace.

As our SDA group mentor and sister at The Moneague Teachers College, Juanita was a strong, God-fearing no-nonsense individual who kept the group focused on Jesus's soon return.

We'll meet on that Sea of Glass, sis.

Juanita was one of the most cheerful persons one could  ever encounter.  Her bright smile and vivacious personality always precede her presence. I can't recall ever seeing her without a smile.  She was a very active member of the Blue Hole SDA Church Jamaica in earlier years, where she  participated in various  youth activities. Those days the  youths were required to repeat all seven Morning Watch texts from memory during MV Programs on Sabbath Afternoon and when we all fumbled through to get them right, Mazie never missed a word, not even a full stop nor a comma.  Her  brain power was really sharp. We both taught at the Ginger Ridge All Age School back in the 70s and shared a class room. Throughout her tenure, she displayed the attributes of an excellent teacher.  Condolences to her immediate and extended family are sincerely expressed by the Roofe Family. Be strong Brother Earl, she was your sole sister and you her sole brother that hurts.  You'll be in our thoughts and prayers. The death of people whom we love brings sorrow and deep pain, but if our loved ones knew the Lord, our loss becomes their gain. Looking forward to seeing her in the first resurrection❤️🌺🌹
Condolences to Juanita’s family. May God wrap you in his love during this difficult time.
During our time at Moneague Teachers College, I had many conversations with Juanita. She was always pleasant and very well mannered. She always had a smile and every now and again we would share a joke together. I remember her as having a good sense of humour.

  • May her dear Soul Rest in Peace

Your humbled life has let an indelible mark on the hearts of all us who had the opportunity to know you.. whether it’s family, church, school or community..

Your thoughtfulness of others..even on your sick bed you were reaching out.. checking to see how others are doing.

Mrs. Hamilton, Sis Hamilton, Mazie, Aunty, however we address you; you will forever be in our hearts and your genuine smile and legacy lives on.

Sleep in peace my cousin until the first resurrection 🙏🏽❤️

This unique gem may be gone, but her legacy lives on through us. Her love, kindness, and strength will continue to inspire me, and I know I'm not alone. Let us honor her memory by living the values she embodied.

Rest in peace, dear Mother Juanita. Your impact on my life will never be forgotten. I always felt proud when you called me son.. I will treasure the beautiful memories shared, the inspiring messages you sent me and how they make me feel each time I read them. Rest in peace now. Love always.

To be on time is to be before time, a preferred saying by my dearest colleague Juanita Hamilton. You will be dearly missed as you have gone on early to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  I pray strength and comfort for your family during this very difficult time.  Rest well my friend.

Life in this world is promised to none.  We therefore cherish the pleasant memories of one so dear, encouraging and light hearted.  Juanita loved the Lord and he her so grieve but not too much , she'd have wanted it no other way as she was ready to meet her maker.  We all should take a page out of her book in how she lived. Sleep on Hami. May your family go through this chapter with bravery and peace of mind.
This is a real shock for me. There are some people who touch your life in such a way that you never wish, want nor expect them to ever leave; and certainly not die! I love the woman, mother, and mother-in-law she was. I never had any problem or issue with her. I love how she was always smiling when ever I would see her and her "no bullshit" attitude. 😄 I'm so sorry you guys are going through this, and I'm real sorry she left. It's a big and wide family but of course with you Lav and ancia being the ones I'm more affiliated with and close to. Please accept my most sincere condolences. Simply put your mom was "AMAZING"! That's always been my opinion of her. I lost my mom in 2022, and my heart and head still hurts.  So my prayers will be for your strength and comfort. 😔
