Please consider a contribution to Honoring the Life and Legacy of Juan Jimenez.

Background

Hi, my name is Stephanie Jimenez McMurdo, and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my beloved father, Juan Francisco Jimenez, who is currently in hospice and nearing the final chapter of his life here with us. Born in 1945, my dad’s life has been a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering strength.

Juan battled Parkinson’s disease, dementia, COPD, and other serious medical conditions with remarkable grace and fortitude. Despite the toll these illnesses took on his body, he never let them define him. He continued to lead with compassion, kindness, and dignity—even on the hardest days.

He was a father who taught us to be strong in the face of hardship, and to always lead with heart. Because of him, my sister and I were inspired to enter the medical field and dedicate our work to supporting patients in behavioral health—many of whom come from underserved communities. He showed us, by example, what it means to advocate for others, to endure with grace, and to extend love even when suffering.

Through his journey, we learned what it truly means to live with purpose. His strength and compassion shaped who we are, and we are committed to carrying his legacy forward by treating others with the same care and dignity he lived by.

As we prepare to say goodbye, we want to honor his life with the dignity he deserves. We are humbly asking for support to help cover funeral and end-of-life costs. Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to our family and help lighten the burden during this deeply emotional time.

If you’re unable to give, we completely understand. We’d be grateful if you could share this fundraiser or keep our family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for taking the time to read and reflect on our father’s story. His legacy will live on through the love he gave us—and the love we pass on in his name.

With love and gratitude,
The Jimenez Family

On the day of dad’s passing, the sun was shining bright - many hawks circled the sky around and in the distance. We know his soul was being guided and accompanied to the next realm ♥️

Update from Aug. 17, 2025

7 days ago: We wanted to share with you where things stand as we prepare to honor our dad. We’ve chosen to work with California Funeral Alternatives for the mortuary and Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery for his resting place.

Following Baha’i practices, we are planning a humble and dignified in-ground burial within an hour’s travel of his passing. We’ve been mindful in selecting an option that is both affordable and respectful, ensuring we can lay him to rest in accordance with his faith.

Your donations have helped make this possible, and we are deeply grateful for your kindness and support during this time.

Update from Aug. 17, 2025

7 days ago: My father continues to be in the end stages of his journey. He’s in a coma-like state, but still opens his eyes at times. It has been two days since he’s eaten, and we are focused on keeping him comfortable and surrounded by love.

We are deeply grateful for the prayers, kind words, and support during this difficult time. Any contributions toward his upcoming burial expenses mean more than we can express. Thank you for walking with us through these final moments.
