Joyce's obituary
Joyce Gonzales, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away suddenly on July 29, 2025, at the age of 77, in her home in Peoria, Arizona. Born on April 12, 1948, in California, Joyce lived a life defined by love, strength, and devotion to her family.
Joyce shared 34 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Leroy Gonzales, who remained by her side through every moment. She was the proud mother of two daughters, Lori and Teresa, and the deeply cherished grandmother of Connie, Katlyn, Patrick, Michael, Zachary, and Alex. Joyce’s love extended even further to her 11 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her heart.
Known as the heart of her family, Joyce selflessly stepped in to raise four of her grandchildren when they needed her most, giving them not only a home but also the unconditional love and guidance that shaped their lives. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she gave every part of herself to ensure they felt supported, cared for, and loved.
After moving to Arizona 25 years ago, Joyce created a home filled with warmth and joy. In 2001, she built her dream home in Peoria, where she spent her final years surrounded by the love of her family and the peace she so deserved.
Joyce was the most amazing matriarch any family could ask for—kind, giving, and endlessly devoted. She loved beyond measure and was loved just as deeply in return. Though her presence will be profoundly missed, her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched.
Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, and her influence will continue to guide her family for generations to come.
Services will be held Saturday, August 23rd, 2025 at 2pm in the chapel at NPHX Church at 5757 N Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85012. Flowers can be sent to the church as well as to Joyce's beloved home.
